About

Featured here is art I have created over a the last ten plus years.

I was lucky enough to begin my photographic journey in ‘old school’ analogue when dad (also a photo buff) gave me a Minolta at 18. Before that, not allowed to touch! I was pretty hungry for it by then, and for years photographed everything I saw in film.

Since then the world truly gave over to digital. My dad was a computer teacher even back then, so I played around with photoshop since it was around. It was fortunate to get experience in both. Now teach it myself.

At school, I was the dedicated art student and could think of nothing better than doing art every day. I followed that dream. My skills have been enhanced at TAFE, then Uni, doing work experience at magazines, newspapers and with freelancers. All the wonderful people I met along the way shared their advice, which I lapped up! I got a lot of good advice from an uncle who is a pro photographer, when he visited periodically over the years.

I traveled, was part of symposium in Portugal, photographed the Eurythmics as part of an event management contract (the highlight) and have always been drawn to making photos of almost everything!

My purpose is to create art that I enjoy looking at/making and when I paint to create rt that welcomes people home and expresses a story. The most recent has been with an environmental theme, using clay paints to truly be in harmony with the spirit of the message.

Now I’ve had a baby, I’ve had loads of inspiration from my new muse. There is more room for creativity. (The computer, however, is almost full already and she’s only two months old!)

I abound with ideas and the possibilities just keep coming. It’s a wonderful time. I hope you enjoy what you see.
